But when Paige’s ex-husband turns up in Virgin River, Preacher knows his own future hangs in the balance. And if there’s one thing in the marines’ motto of Semper Fidelis—always faithful—has taught him, it’s that some things are worth fighting for.
Maybe I shouldn’t have listened to this straight after listening to the first book in the series, because I think I’m suffering from Virgin River diabetes. Too much sugar, too many gentle ex-Marines, and definitely too many pregnancies! There’s a formula here which could be played out in half the time. The book itself was okay – albeit very similar to the first one – and I liked Preacher a lot, even if he was far too tentative with Paige and started every sentence with her name. I suspect I just need a break from these characters now.
