18 & Over Book Blogger Follow #17: Say You’re a Beta…

7 Sep

18 & Over Book Blogger Follow is a weekly feature that runs over the weekend, hosted by Crystal from one of my favourite blog sites, Reading Between the Wines.

Question of the Week If you could beta read for any author who would it be and why?

Well, I guess I already do beta for a number of authors, since I’m an editor at a small publishing house.

I really liked Crystal’s choices of J.R. Ward and Olivia Cunning 😉 but the one “big” author I would like to offer my services to would have to be Jaci Burton. I was hugely disappointed in the number of errors and inconsistencies in The Perfect Play, and it made me not want to read the rest of the series, even though a lot of people rave about them.

Being Jaci’s beta might also mean I’d get the chance to meet those cover models… it’d be a sacrifice but someone’s gotta do it!

What about you? Who would you like to beta for? Leave a comment below or link up HERE to follow the meme.

It’s been so long since I read that book I honestly can’t remember being tripped up by any blips in the story. But a chance at her cover models would be a fabulous perk of the job. I’m right there with ya on that 🙂 She has some of the best covers. Love em!

Wow, I had and still do on occasion, toy with the idea of becoming an editor myself but I’m so intimidated sometimes it’s not even funny. I’ve heard a lot of great things about Jaci Burton’s books, I’m not one for athlete heroes (or athletes in general) but from the excerpts I’ve read I think I may enjoy her books a lot.

LoL I agree! I was just reading her latest and noticed the same thing. I beta read for another author and now little errors seem to pop out at me everywhere so I know what you mean. But I think if I had the chance to meet one of Jaci’s cover models it might all be worth it! Great pick and thanks for joining in the follow!
